A significant portion of the metropolitan population resides in informal settlements. To address this challenge and uplift communities, the Government of Maharashtra introduced a comprehensive slum rehabilitation framework aimed at providing eligible residents with well-planned, hygienic housing units at no cost.

To implement this initiative, the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) was established as an autonomous body. Under the SRA scheme, the cost of rehabilitating slum dwellers is cross-subsidized by granting developers additional development rights, enabling the sale of incentive-built area in the open market. This structured mechanism ensures a balanced and sustainable model benefiting all stakeholders — Slum Dwellers, the State, and the Developer.

We have strategically acquired slum clusters in prime locations of Central Mumbai, including a major cluster currently at an advanced stage of approval. This project encompasses the rehabilitation of approximately 2,500 residents and involves total proposed construction exceeding 3.5 million sq. ft., reflecting both scale and long-term community impact.
